Yesterday our Son and DIL had their Christmas from us here since they'll be away when we usually open gifts. Son requested a new stocking to take to Montana to his In-laws home where they'll spend a snowy , white Christmas I'm sure. I understand they "do" stockings there so he wanted to make sure he had a nice new one.
This is 45" long by 19 1/2" wide. I guess since they "fill" stockings up north, he wanted to go BIG!
PLEASE note: The "Fill r' Up" he requested be put on his stocking. He's hoping his in-laws will notice (LOL). The snowflakes were made using the Accuquilt GO Holiday Die. The embroidery done on my 830. I like being able to do lettering as large as needed for a project. Both sides are done the same.
The stocking is lined in two layers of muslin.
His "old" stocking was "not" small by any means. It was a cross-stitched one made while we were living in Cairo, Egypt in 1992 with fabrics purchased there. The "tartan" was made with Ric Rac from Cairo (much poorer quality there).
We decided to compare the two.
A close up his "old" and "too-small" stocking (or so he thinks). Wonder if he's taking the "too-small" one up north as well with anticipation of maybe getting TWO filled.
Again, thank you all for welcoming me back into Blogland. I'm definitely on a learning curve again, especially using my new MacBook Pro. (I have yet to learn how to downsize photos so they'll upload faster)
Have a wonderful week.
